Caring for the Health of the whole Family...
Gout is an acute inflammation of the joints on accumulation of deposits of uric acid crystals in joints and tendons. It occurs in some people whose blood uric acid is abnormally high due to either overproduction or defective excretion by kidneys. Uric acid is a waste product of the breakdown of nucleic acids, i.e. DNA and RNA. This condition is more prevalent in males than females and there is a familial tendency. In many cases, only one joint is involved and it is typically red, hot and painful. The pain comes suddenly and is excruciating. There is swelling and tenderness also. The sites most commonly affected are big toe joints and the ankle, knee, wrist and elbow joints. After repeated acute attacks permanent damaged may occur with chronic deformity and loss of function of the affected joints.
In early stage, when the symptoms like joints pain, tenderness and swelling are there, homeopathic medicines can give pain relief and may arrest further progress of the condition.
Common Homeopathic medicines used are Pulsatilla, Bryonia, staphysagria, Colchicum etc depending on the symptoms.
