Case of Morning Sickness

I am 12 weeks pregnant and have a very bad morning sickness. My doctor told me that I will get better but still am not getting better. I have nausea and I vomit 3 to 4 times a day. I cannot tolerate the smell of food. I feel very tired and sleepy. I want to try natural medicines. Do you have any medicines in homeopathy which can help me?

Nausea and vomiting is also called Morning sickness and the medical term for the severe symptoms is Hyperemesis Gravidarum. Widely known as morning sickness, feeling or being sick during pregnancy normally is very common problem during the first 3 months. However it can start as early as the first missed menstrual period and continue until later into the pregnancy. Although the name suggests nausea and vomiting occur only in the morning, they often occur throughout the day.

The exact cause is unknown, but it is thought to be linked to hormone changes in the body, some dietary deficiencies or insufficient food intake. It is harmless and usually subsides after 12 or 13 weeks without any medical help. It is rare for vomiting to cause a serious medical problem. However, if it is excessive with the patient vomiting everything that is taken, it can dehydrate the patient and should take medical help.

Tiredness is very common in pregnancy, especially during first 12 to 14 weeks as the woman's body is under extra strain. To cope with this, women may want to take naps whenever possible. Extreme fatigue can sometimes be a symptom of anaemia.

Usually Morning sickness can be treated by homeopathy. It can reduce the nausea and vomiting.

Some Homeopathic medicines which can help reduce these symptoms are: Ipecac, Nux Vomica, Arsenic album, Antim crude.
